The Arc Jefferson – St. Lawrence Foundation (www.thearcjslc.org), held the 16th annual walk to promote acceptance of Autism Spectrum Disorders on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at SUNY Potsdam’s Maxcy Hall in Potsdam, N.Y. There were over 325 people in attendance and thanks to community support as well as sponsorship, the fundraiser had a profit of over $25,000.

The Arc Jefferson – St. Lawrence Foundation (www.thearcjslc.org), is holding a walk to promote acceptance of Autism Spectrum Disorders at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at SUNY Potsdam’s Maxcy Hall in Potsdam, N.Y. Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. The event will be hosted by WWNY-TV’s Jeff Cole. This year, the agency is moving the Walk from the previous September date to April as part of Autism Acceptance Month to meet requests from program participants and families.

The Arc Jefferson - St. Lawrence (www.thearcjslc.org) was awarded a grant through North Country Initiative’s (NCI) Promising Practices Fund to support the purchase of assistive equipment and safety features that will minimize fall risks for approximately 300 residents with disabilities at 51 community-based homes throughout Jefferson and St. Lawrence Counties.

The Arc Jefferson - St. Lawrence (www.thearcjslc.org) was awarded a New York State Developmental Disabilities Planning Council (DDPC) Conference Access Grant. The funds will be used to support the North Country Self-Advocates group to attend The Self-Advocacy Association of New York State, Inc., conference from October 26th through October 28th in Albany.

The Arc Jefferson - St. Lawrence (www.thearcjslc.org) received a donation from Brookfield Renewable U.S. that will be used to support the purchase of an accessible dock system at the agency’s Dodge Pond facility. This donation was initiated and supported by the Rotary Club of Potsdam, N.Y.

The Arc Jefferson – St. Lawrence (www.thearcjslc.org) is pleased to announce the creation of a Sensory Garden at the St. Lawrence County main office building located at 6 Commerce Lane in Canton. The garden will be named in honor of former board member, Patricia Campanella. Brick pavers are now available and may be purchased through The Arc Jefferson – St. Lawrence Foundation to support the project.

The Arc Jefferson - St. Lawrence (www.thearcjslc.org) has renamed the business division of the agency and it will become, “The Arc Jefferson – St. Lawrence Enterprises” as an innovative approach to increase work options for people with disabilities. This change coincides with Lynn Pietroski’s transition to Chief Executive Officer and Tara Carr’s move to the new Chief Operating Officer.
