The Arc Jefferson - St. Lawrence
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – The Arc Jefferson - St. Lawrence (www.thearcjslc.org) announced the development of a new program, called “Bridges.” This new service coordinates services formerly provided through the agency’s Transitions and Children & Youth programs.
The mission of Bridges is to provide services and supports to children and youth with developmental disabilities starting at age three through the various stages of youth until transitioning into adulthood.
“We are thrilled to be expanding our services to support even more children to participate in activities that are engaging, educational, and fun as they grow into adulthood,” stated Lynn Pietroski, Chief Operating Officer of The Arc Jefferson – St. Lawrence. “Bridges teaches and reinforces skills that are vital to help young people become as independent as possible at home and in the community.”
Bridges provides site-based and community-based services that target skill development and allow age appropriate advancement based on each person’s needs and individual goals. Bridges enhances independent living and social skills using real-life experiences. As young people grow towards adulthood, supports are geared towards enhanced self-reliance in both.
Bridges offers Behavior Consultation with licensed Board-Certified Behavior Analyst. Transportation is provided by the agency. Just a few of the activities provided by the program include communication, social development, safety, travel, arts, fitness, volunteerism, recreation, as well as evening and weekend activities.
The Arc Jefferson – St. Lawrence provides lifelong opportunities that enhance the lives of people, so that they may achieve their goals and aspirations. To learn more and apply now, visit www.thearcjslc.org or find us on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
