In honor of October’s National Disability Employment Awareness Month, The Arc Jefferson - St. Lawrence (www.thearcjslc.org), announced that Nathan Rheome was awarded the distinction of “William B. Joslin Outstanding Performer,” from the New York State Industries for the Disabled, Inc. (NYSID.)
Rheome works on a contract at the St. Lawrence County Department of Social Services (DSS) in Canton run by JSLC Enterprises, which is operated by The Arc Jefferson – St. Lawrence. He has a passion for document imaging, which is a primary task on this NYSID Preferred Source contract. Rheome has laser-like focus at work and shows an exemplary level of dedication.
“Nathan has excelled in this position at DSS, which is a testament to the valuable relationship the County has with our agency to provide meaningful work for people with disabilities,” said Lynn Pietroski, Chief Executive Officer of The Arc Jefferson – St. Lawrence. “Nathan has become a role model who encourages the whole team to do their best.”
NYSID is a not-for-profit organization with 48 years of experience meeting the purchasing needs of government agencies while advancing employment for New Yorkers with disabilities. NYSID empowers people with disabilities through approved Preferred Source job opportunities provided by their statewide membership.
This recognition comes in conjunction with October’s National Employment Disability Awareness Month (NDEAM), led by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy. NDEAM’s purpose is to educate the public about disability employment issues and celebrate the many and varied contributions of America’s workers with disabilities.
