THE ARC JEFFERSON – ST. LAWRENCE HOLDS ANNUAL MEETING AND HONORS ACHIEVEMENTS

The Arc Jefferson - St. Lawrence (www.thearcjslc.org), recently held their Annual Meeting to elect the officers for the Board of Directors, as well as honor employees, volunteers, and individuals supported by the agency. The 2021-2022 elected officers for The Arc Jefferson – St. Lawrence Board of Directors are as follows: Jackie Sauter, President; Jennifer VanReenen, Vice President; and Joanne Rhode, Secretary/Treasurer.

THE ARC JEFFERSON – ST. LAWRENCE FEDERAL CONTRACT STAFF HONORED

The Arc Jefferson - St. Lawrence (www.thearcjslc.org) announced that federal contract custodial staff at the two separate sites were honored with the Commendable Service Award from the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA). This distinguished award was presented in recognition of the work done during the pandemic at the Robert C. McEwen Ogdensburg Custom House and Massena Land Port of Entry. These federal contracts employ people with disabilities though the SourceAmerica, AbilityOne Program.

In addition to operating the County's public transportation system, The Arc Jefferson - St. Lawrence offers regular transportation for individuals who attend our programs and services.

Dodge Pond

Dodge Pond is a facility that provides year-round recreation options for people with disabilities. Day Habilitation is offered daily with a focus on outdoor experiences. Summer Camp is offered on site to children with disabilities and vacations are available for adults with disabilities.

Day Services

Our day habs offer activities that promote individual goals. Services encourage self direction, independence, and life-long educational opportunities designed to suit the interests of the person and their support team.

Community Prevocational Services

The Arc Jefferson - St. Lawrence’s Community Prevocational Services assist participants in developing employment readiness skills in an integrated community work setting. Participants will be taught about work experiences through volunteer efforts. Community Prevocational Services help to prepare participants to work by teaching the skills needed to be successful in a community work environment. Staff provide lessons and teach skills needed to build on a person’s strong points and assist with developing the abilities needed to pursue work in the future.
