The Arc Jefferson – St. Lawrence Foundation (www.thearcjslc.org), is holding a walk to promote acceptance of Autism Spectrum Disorders at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at SUNY Potsdam’s Maxcy Hall in Potsdam, N.Y. Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. The event will be hosted by WWNY-TV’s Jeff Cole.
This year’s theme is “Lord of the Rings” and there will be a free costume contest and a flag contest open to everyone with a variety of great prizes available to win! The Autism Acceptance Walk is a non-competitive walk to promote education and support services offered by The Arc Jefferson - St. Lawrence for people on the Autism Spectrum.
There is no registration fee, but walkers who raise $50 or more will receive the limited-edition 2024 Autism Acceptance Walk t-shirt, while supplies last. Download the registration forms and get full details at www.thearcjslc.org/foundation.
The first 300 registered participants will get a complimentary gift bag. The activities are being provided by students from the St. Lawrence-Lewis BOCES Education and Human Services program and include games, face painting, crafts, music, and more! The event will also include a visit from the mascot, Elroy the Elk.

The Arc Jefferson - St. Lawrence’s Bridges Program provides individualized services for people with developmental disabilities starting at three years old with a specialization in the Autism Spectrum. Students participate in a variety of skill development activities addressing social, daily living, and academic skills using principles of Applied Behavior Analysis. Additionally, services are offered in the child’s home, in the community, and in their school. For more information on these programs, call 315-386-3055.
